Caroline was the daughter of Margaret "Molly" Moss Dickerson (1779 - 1850) and Jeremiah Dickerson (1776 - 1858).

Caroline married Green B Bruner on May 2, 1837.

The following obituary was printed at the time of her death:
Little Hickman, Aug. 8, 1893,- At four o'clock yesterday morning, grim death again visited this community, and removed from our midst, Mrs. Caroline Bruner, aged 78 years. She had been a sufferer for months from paralysis and her demise was not unexpected by her many relatives and friends. Mrs. Bruner was the daughter of Mr. Jerry Dickerson, long since passed over the river, and widow of Greenberry Bruner, a once prominent farmer and stock raiser at this place. The writer had known this moral old lady since he was old enough to know anyone, and can say he never knew other than the sunny side of her beautiful nature. She was a Christian, and hospitable, and in her time was a star on the sea of this life. I can never forget her kindness and the interest she took in me. She was the mother of ten children, eight of whom survive the loss of good mother. Ed. L, Calvin, Roey, Tilford, Augustus, Erastus, Chester and Tom N., are the names of her surviving sons, who deeply mourn that she who ever ministered to their benefit, is no more.

Her funeral was preached today at 10 a.m., at the old homestead, by Rev. Anthony, in the presence of a large crowd of relatives and sorrowing friends., after which her remains were interred at the same place, beside the loved ones who long ago preceded her on the journey from this life. I sincerely hope she is now peacefully resting in that home beyond the river, free from pain and strife. To her sons, I extend the heart and hand of sympathy, hoping in the end they may again meet that precious, loving mother.

Caroline and Green B Bruner had the following children:
