Mrs. Jesse Boring
Funeral services will be held on Saturday afternoon at the Paul J. Short Funeral Home for the late Mrs. Jesse Boring, member of one of this city's older families, whose death at Salamanca was noted briefly in this column yesterday.
Mrs. Boring, who was 86 yers of age, was in declining health for two years and had been living with a grandchild, Mrs. Donald Sloan, in Salamanca, when she died. Prior to that she had resided in DuBois for upwards of 70 years and had mothered a large family. She was a member of the Evangelical Church, the Patriotic Order of America and the G.A.R.
Annie Esther Boring was the daughter of Samuel E. and Mary (Coyne) Dolby, born in Northumberland on March 15, 1876, and came to this community early in life while DuBois was still a thriving lumber town. She was united in marriage with the late Jesse Boring, whose death occurred on November 24, 1935.
Surviving her are eight sons and daughters, 19 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. One of her grandsons has served with U.S. Secret Service in the presidential bodyguard for the past decade. Surviving children are: Earl C. and Jess M. Jr., of DuBois; S. Bon, of Akron, Ohio; Stewart A., of Wellsville, NY; Mrs John McCall, of Canton, Ohio, Mrs. A.F. Heidrick, of Salamanca, NY ; Mrs. Martin J. Lawson of Erie, and Mrs. Eva Ferrier, of Butler, PA.
Friends are being received at the Paul Short Funeral Home, where burial services will be conducted by Rev. W. J. Ritchey, of the U.E.E. Church on Saturday at 1:30 o'clock and interment will be made in Rumbarger Cemetery.
