Sarah Brand, wife of the late Elisha Thomas, died in Union district, this county, on Monday morning, the 25th instant, shortly after midnight, aged about 74 years. Her funeral took place on Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock. The interment was at Colfax. Deceased had been in ill health for some time. She was an estimable woman, and her many friends will be sorry to learn of her death. She was a sister of Mr. Elza Brand, of Paw Paw district, and leaves numerous other relatives. Her late husband died on the 31st of last December aged 82 years. -- Fairmont West Virginian.
Mr. Thomas was a native of this county, and resided in Valley district, until a few years ago when he removed to Marion county. He was a relative of ex-sheriff Thomas and his wife was related to W. H. Brand of Kingwood.
