Carl Fox, 77, Lincoln, died Nov. 28 at St. Elizabeth Hospital there.  Services were Saturday at :30 a.m. at Roper Funeral Home.  Burial was in Litchfield Cemetery.  The Rev. Albert Winsman officiated at both services.
Carl was born June 1913 at Albion, NE., the son of Wheeler and Fannie (Halbeison) Fox.  They moved to a farm near Litchfield when he was three years old.  In 1929 he moved with his parents to Litchfield where he and his father owned and operated a filling station and garage for 35 years.  Carl married Lois Newhouser in 1935.
During WWII he learned to fly while attending his brother's flying school in Butte, Mont. and then was a Fight Instructor for Army Cadets in Missoula, Mont.  He kept his commercial pilot's license for twenty years.
After the war he returned to Litchfield where he lived until 1964.  He and his family moved to Lincoln where he was self employed in a small engine repair service.
Carl was a member of the Litchfield Volunteer Fire Dept. for 40 years and a member of the Litchfield Masonic Lodge.  After moving to Lincoln he and Lois were members of Havelock United Methodist Church.
Carl is survived by his wife, Lois; one son, Deane, Oklahoma City, Okla.; two daughters, Jeanne, Bechtelsville, Penn. and Carlene, Lincoln; one sister, Mrs. Wilma Sweley, North Platte; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.
