Minnie Hunter was born in Hecla, Brown Co., South Dakota, the daughter of John and Katherine "Kate" Hunter.

October 17, 1912, Minnie married Burgess "Bert" C. Hopper in Meadow, Perkins Co., South Dakota. They lived on his homestead in a sod house. Due to his sudden, unexpected death on February 6th, 1917, she was left a widow with a small son, John, and a child on the way (Burgess).

Minnie married Johan "John" Weninger December 24, 1919, in Marion Co., Oregon. Their children are Leroy and Margaretta. John preceded her in death in 1967.
