Services for Verna E. Blythe, 73, of Sherman, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Chapel of Waldo Funeral Home. She died Saturday at Wilson N. Jones Memorial Hosptial in Sherman. Dr. Tom Brandon, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Sherman, will officiate the funeral services. Burial will be at Holloway Cemetery near Luella. Mrs. Blythe was born in Donipan, MO. She was a daughter of William and Helen Fleming Fawcett. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sherman. She married Homer Blythe March 30, 1940, in Las Vegas, Nev. Mrs. Blythe and her husband became active in the Sherman business community in 1951. They owned and operated Blythe Used Cars and Blythe Auto Glass. For 12 years, the Blythes also operated Blythe Recreational Vehicle Sales. Survivors include Mrs. Blythe's husband of Sherman; son, Stanley Blythe of Houston; daughters, Barbara Pearson of College Station and Jerriann Bragg of Clermon, Fla.; sisters, Vera Autrye of Bakersfield, Calif. and Ina Pritchett of Vallejo, Calif.; 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Pallbearers will be Jim Bragg, Chey Leunes, Phil Pearson, Jeff Allen, Ted Austin and Leonard Blythe. Mrs. Blythe's family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 tonight. At other times, the family will be at the Blythe's residence, 2602 Rivercrest Drive.
