Barbara was born in Bakersfield, California, to the late Homer and Verna Blythe. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church.
Barbara graduated from North Texas State University in 1965 and received her Masters and Ph.D. in History from Texas A&M University in 1970 and 1977. She married Alec "Phil" Pearson in November of 1981. She remained in College Station to teach and ultimately became the Vice President and Dean of Blinn College in Bryan where she retired in 2009.
Barbara was actively involved in the community including service on the Board of Directors for St. Joseph Hospital Foundation and Wells Fargo Bank as well as a member of Rotary, League of Women Voters, and Phi Theta Kappa.
Survivors include her daughters: Leslie LeUnes Stiteler, of Cypress, Natalie LeUnes Allen, of College Station, and Amy LeUnes Norland of Spring; son, Christopher Chay LeUnes, of Cypress; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. M1
