Van Alstyne - Services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at the First Methodist Church here for Mrs. Nora Belle Blythe, 83, who died at 10 a.m. Saturday in a McKinney hospital. Rev. Dale Swain willl conduct the services. Burial will be in the Holloway Cemetery under the direction of the Flesher Funeral Home.
Mrs. Blythe was born Feb. 5, 1887, in Texas, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Martin. She married J.H. Blythe, who preceded her in death, on June 23, 1962. Mrs. Blythe was a member of the Van Alstyne Methodist Church. She was also preceded in death by a daughter and a son.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Gladys Austin of Gunter and Mrs. Opal Anderson of Fort Worth; three sons, Elmer F. Blythe of Palestine, Leonard (Shorty) Blythe of Van Alstyne, and Homer H. Blythe of Sherman; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a brother, John Martin of Weatherford; two sisters, Mrs. Irene Pettit of Lubbock and Mrs. Bessie Stone of California.
The family will be at the Flesher Funeral Home from 7 - 8 p.m. Sunday and at the family residence the rest of the time.
