Polly was the daughter of Aaron Beard and Kizziah Carter. Their is some speculation about her birth date. The only census her birthdate is given that she appears in (1850) says c1815 MS. If the year is correct, she would have to have been born in TN, as the family was not in MS yet. Jane is the older sister and she is stated to be born in 1815 TN in more than one census. Her brother John was the first son and supposed to have been the first child of the family born in MS. He was born in 1818. It is more probable that Polly was born c1820 MS.
However, if this is true, she would have to have married at a young age (about 12 years), as she married William M. "Bill" Boyd c1832 and they had nine children. She died possibly in 1854 giving birth to the last child, Asa Boyd. She does not appear in the 1860 census.
Bill then married in 1855 to Sarah Ann Alexander.

Asa Boyd b 25 Jan 1854 d 14 Jan 1891 (His mother died giving birth to him.) m/ Mary Louise Estess (dau. of James Estess & Doll Boyd). They had nine known children.
