Sidney H. Hart, 85, of Lebanon passed away Saturday at his home.

Sidney was born in Rich Mountain, Ark., the son of Huell and Allie (Sexton) Hart. He lived in Rich Mountain and Mena, Ark., throughout his childhood, where he attended school. He served in the Navy in the South Pacific during World War II. He moved to Lebanon in 1947, where he had resided since. Sidney worked for Santiam Lumber for 16 years and Champion Plywood for another 19 years in the Lebanon area.

He was a member of the Lebanon First Assembly of God, where he enjoyed being a greeter, a parking lot attendant and his ministry at area nursing homes. He enjoyed bass fishing at area lakes.

Sidney married Dorothy Presley in Mena, Ark., on Aug. 24, 1946.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dorothy of Lebanon; son Gary and wife Jeanie Hart of Lebanon; granddaughter Amy Henderson of Corvallis; and sisters Dollye Hampton and Alleyne Bealert of Mena, Ark., and Helen Parsons of Van Buren, Ark.

He was preceded in death by sisters Bessie Mae, Louise, Pauline, Florence and Lorene.

Viewing will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Huston-Jost Funeral Home. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Huston-Jost Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Lebanon IOOF Cemetery.

The family requests memorial contributions to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association or Samaritan Evergreen Hospice, in care of Huston-Jost Funeral Home, 86 W. Grant St., Lebanon, OR 97355.
