Richfield, Utah - Keith R. Hooper, age 86, died May 12, 2010 at his home in Richfield. He was born July 21, 1923 in Annabella, Utah, a son of William R. and Vida May Brown Hooper. He graduated from South Sevier High School and served in the US Army Air Corp during World War II.

Keith married Mary Christensen, May 12, 1942 in the Manti LDS Temple. She died June 8, 1996. He married Roberta Taylor Christensen, June 13, 1998 in the Manti LDS Temple.

Keith worked for the Utah High Patrol from 1957 to 1979 and retired as a Lieutenant.

He is survived by his wife of Richfield; children: Anne and Keith Stanworth of Cedar City; Keith R. and Shirley Hooper Jr. of Duchesne; Galen Roy and Kathy Hooper of Springville; Laurel Hooper of Salt Lake City; Ione Roth of Idaho Falls, Idaho; Carma and Kerry Steck of Ephraim; a foster daughter, Lula Joy and Darryl Billy of Gallup, New Mexico; step-children: Brent and Kathy Ogden of Grand Junction, Colorado; Janae and Jeff Bell of Payson; Bryce and Audrey Ogden of St. George; Lesli and Greg Hughes of West Jordan; Dixie and Don Harris of Redmond, Washington; 31 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren; 19 step-grandchildren and 7 step-great-grandchildren; brother and sister: Richard Hooper of Roy and Adelia Poulson of Washington.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister: William Fred Hooper, Samuel Hooper and Evelyn Carter.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. in the Richfield East LDS Stake Center, 805 North 500 East in Richfield. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Monday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or at the Stake Center, Tuesday morning from 9:00 to 10:30 prior to the services.

Burial with military honors accorded by the VFW Sevier Post #5050 and the Utah Honor Guard and the Utah Highway Patrol Honor Guard will be in the Annabella Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
