She was a daughter of Emory Charles and Margaret Wooten Carrico.

Alma will be remembered as a caring and compassionate lady who was extremely well organized. She was a member of Living Springs Lutheran Church, where she served in many capacities including: on the Altar Guild and the Worship/Music Committee, as a member of the WELCA, and by coordinating the Meal Team. Alma was past president of the Newcomers Club of both Columbia and Orangeburg. While in Montgomery, AL she was well known as the Avon Lady who called on her customers by motorcycle. Alma and Herb loved visiting the beach.
