Lucy Mae was the Daughter of David Washington Carter, Jr. and Elizabeth "Lizzy" Davidson-Carter. She was one of ten children.

She married Erastus Champion 1 Nov, 1914 in Crittenden CO. KY. Erastus was known and went by the name of "E".

She was the Mother of E Douglas [1915-1992], Martha [1917-2007], James Edward [1922-2008], Donald David, and Dorothy Champion.

She and my Grandmother were sisters and yet were very different. Aunt Lucy did not sew so she would buy material for Grandma and Grandma would sew for Lucy's children as well as her own. I never saw Aunt Lucy that she was not top dressed. She had very pretty hair.

She and Uncle E lived on what is now Hwy 60 and he farmed. She lived there until she died.

They went to Union Baptist Church and are buried in the Church Cemetery as a lot of Carters are.
