Clinton MO - Mrs. H. F. Walker died at her home on South Orchard at 10 p.m., Sunday, with a complication of diseases. She had had a bad case of influenza in January, and since then had not been well. About two weeks before her death, she became bedfast and suffered much until death released her. Ella Collins was born just south of Clinton on the old Deepwater road, on what is known as the Garth farm, March 1, 1867. She was united in marriage with H. F. Walker, July 23, 1888, and they lived nearly all of the time since on their home farm, seven miles northwest of Clinton. March, 1927, they moved to Clinton, living on South Washington Street, while they and their son, each built an attractive bungalow side by side on South Orchard street. They moved last September into this completely modern home, and it seemed as if they were just ready to enjoy life, as just next door lived their only son, W. H. Walker, and wife and their beloved little granddaughter, Mary Lucille. Besides her beloved husband she leaves a half brother, J. C. Collins, in Kansas; C. C. Collins, west of Deepwater; two sisters - Mrs. T. J. Gilbert, northwest of Clinton, and Mrs. Jennie Cathcard of Kansas City. The later sister was here during her last days of illness. Mrs. Walker was converted many years ago and united with the Baptist church at Garland. Just a short time before her death she united with the Christian church at Clinton. She was anxious to live and did everything possible to get well, at the same time she had implicit faith in the saving powers of the Lord Jesus Christ, so was willing to go to her heavenly home. She was a good housekeeper and delighted in home making. She had a bright, sunny smile, and never met the writer on the street without exchanging jests. The funeral was conducted at the Christian church Tuesday. Burial was in Englewood.
