Wanda Florence Parr Stacy went home to her Heavenly Father at 7:15 p.m. Friday, May 7, 2010, at a Grapevine hospital.
Funeral: 1 p.m. Tuesday at Ridgecrest Baptist Church, 4209 McComas, Haltom City. Chaplain Mark Gleich will officiate. Interment: Following a committal service, Wanda will be laid to rest beside her husband, James, in Justin Cemetery, Justin. Visitation: Wanda will lie in state at Lucas Sylvania Funeral Home Monday afternoon with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
Bearers of her casket will be Jimmy Jackson, Aaron Null, John Sanders, Bill Lopez Jr., Clay Winn, Justin O'Reilly and Cody O'Reilly. Honorary bearer: Robert Osment.
Born in Justin on Nov. 15, 1929, Wanda grew up in a Christian home with three loving sisters. She married the love of her life, James Stacy, July 19, 1947. James and Wanda were married 61 and 1/2 years before he preceded her in death March 1, 2009. They had three children, James Arthur, Carolyn and Glenda.
They were members of Ridgecrest Baptist Church since 1950. She never strayed from her faith in the Lord. Wanda was an active participant in the church. She taught Sunday school, G.A.'s and Bible school.
She was a wonderful cook. She baked cookies annually for Bible school and provided for church fellowships.
Wanda was a very loving Christian woman and Mother. She was selfless in that she would help others any way she could whether it was sharing her baked goods, garden vegetables or the Word of Christ.
Wanda worked for the Birdville ISD as a cafeteria manager until her retirement in 1986.
In addition to her husband, James, Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Winfield and Viola Barnard Parr, and grandson, Shane Louis Stacy.
Survivors: She is survived by her children, James A. Stacy and wife, Sue, Carolyn Lopez and husband, Bill, Glenda O'Reilly and husband, Tommy; grandchildren, Jessica Jackson, Aaron Null, Mandy Sanders, Bill Lopez Jr., Tracey Goodwin, Clay Winn, Justin O'Reilly and Cody O'Reilly; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Floella Keefer and husband, Melvin, Nona Belle Watts and husband, Harlie, and Coline Willis and husband, John; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
