Services for Mary Jean Edwards, 82, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 13 at New Bethel Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Grady Mimbs and Rev. Jim Fennell will officiate.
Mrs. Edwards was born on March 1, 1925 in Emanuel County, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Rowell Manche and Mary Jane "Jennie" Daniel Stanley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Buford Otto Edwards, Sr. She was retired as a Nurse at Groveland Nursing Home and Dublinair Nursing Home. She was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church and was also a member of the prayer line. Mrs. Edwards died December 9.
Survivors include her 2 sons, Howard (Carol) Stanley Edwards, of Dublin, Dr. Buford (Donna) Otto Edwards, Jr., of Watkinsville, 3 daughters, Jacquelyn Helen Edwards McConnell, of Valley Grande, AL, Carole (George)Deanne Edwards Scott, of Metter, and Mary (Tom) Jean Edwards Lord, of Granger, IN, a sister, Alice Stanley Marchman, of Macon, 16 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Mrs. Edwards Grandsons, David Sapp, Thomas Lord, Jonathan McConnell, Paul Scott, John Lord, and Tad Edwards.
