Marilla was a daughter of George W. Paddock and his wife Lydia Goodrich.

She married Ansel-6 Crippen on March 25, 1831 in Penfield Twp., Monroe, NY.

6 CRIPPEN children: Millard Filmore, Henry L., Isaac, William Harrison, Ernest M., and Emma Ackerman & Smith.

Ansel and Marilla family moved from Penfield, Monroe, NY after the birth of sons Millard, born 1833, and Henry, born 1835 to Livingston Co., MI.

There is a large monument in the old Brighton, Livingston, MI cemetery. The inscriptions were illegible as of 1960s. It is tall and imposing, but the elements have worn down the marble over the years.

They raised a family of five sons and one daughter and now have many descendants scattered across the country.
