Head of Gift Store Is Dead
Harry W. Brown

Harry W, Brown, 72, president and treasurer of the H. W. Brown Co., a stationery and gift firm, collapsed and died Monday morning in the garage at his home, 2151 Ludington av., Wauwatosa. He was found lying on the garage floor at 10:20 a.m. He apparently died of a heart attack, according to the medical examiner.

Mr. Brown had been in the gift and stationery business in Milwaukee for the last 45 years, 40 of them at 217 E. Wisconsin av.

He was born in Columbus, Wis., and was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin law school. He practiced law in Milwaukee for several years before opening a gift and art shop at 207 E. Wisconsin av. in 1914. Several years later, he moved to his present location and added stationery to his line.

He was a member of the Downtown association and was a past chairman of its parking and traffic committee.

Surviving are his wife, Florence; two sons, Willard and Robert, Park Ridge, Ill., and a sister, Mrs. Nelson Webster, Columbus.

Services are being arranged through the Ritter funeral home, 5310 W. North av.
