Vice Admiral K.C.B. Commander in Chief of the Naval Forces in North America and the West Indies. Joined the Royal Navy at aged 12, both his father
(Admiral Sir Henry Harvey)and uncle (Captain John Harvey) served prominently in the Royal Navy. Thomas served in the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars, distinguished himself serving under his father at the Glorious First of June (1794). Married to his first cousin Sarah. They had eight children. Two of his sons, Thomas and Henry, later became Admirals as well. Died at Admiralty House in Bermuda.
