John is the son of William Marion Vickers and Annie E. Harvin. He was one of seven children from this union. Jefferson D., Hattie Sue, Annie Elizabeth, William Nabor, Annie Dora & Bob Lee Vickers. The last three siblings died in August 1874 from an epidemic of diphtheria. All three were infants!
John was married once and then to Miss. Willie Lockett on August 7, 1902. From this union there were no children.
Mrs. J.H. Vickers married again to W.G. Phillips of Shreveport, Louisiana.
