Ann E. Vickers age 30 b. Georgia
Jefferson Vickers age 5

Ann U. Vickers age 1

The 1880 Census of 4th Ward, Bienville Parish, Louisiana shows the following:

William B. Vickers age 39 b. Georgia (middle name Marion)
Annie E. Vickers age 35 b. Georgia
Jefferson D. Vickers age 14
John H. Vickers age 5
Hattie J. Vickers age 3

William Marion Vickers was b. Feb. 8, 1841 in Ga.or Fl. d. Feb. 19, 1904 in Fillmore, Louisiana. He entered the Civil War in Corinth, Ms. as a Pvt. Co. B 19th La. Inf. He lost an arm-1864-paroled out in 1865 in Tallahassee. He lived near Ringgold, Louisiana where his first wife was buried and then Bossier Parish, La. where William is buried in Bellevue Cemetery. He was married twice. His first wife was Annie E. Harvin who is buried in Ringgold, La. The second wife was Mary Jane Tabitha Dickey who is buried with William.

W.M. Vickers, Pvt., Co. B, enlisted 6 Mar. 1862 at Corninth, Ms. He was wounded in both legs by gunshot 28 July 1864. Lives, Bienville Parish, La. (name also, William M.) William lost two brothers in the Civil War, John Lester Vickers, Jr. and Francis Vickers.

Also, William Marion Vickers, Sr was the son of John Lester Vickers 1808-1877 and Jane Thomas 1809-1947, The Vickers eventually settled in north Louisiana in the DeSoto Parish area, then moved to Bossier Parish, Louisiana. (I refer to William as Sr. because he had a son named William, Jr.)

The Bossier Banner, February 25, 1904, pg. 3 has an obituary for William Marion Vickers.

It is also, noted that someone in the Vickers family owned and operated Vickers Landing on Lake Bistineau.
