WASHINGTON, IL - Arthur F. Mosher, 77, of Washington, Ill., died at 5:32 p.m. Tuesday, April 27, 2010, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Ill.

Born on Dec. 6, 1932, in East Peoria, Ill., to Charles W. and Theresa E. Klug Mosher, he married Martha Louise McCurdy on Aug. 30, 1958, in Wyoming, Ill. She survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Julie (Steve) Southey of Champaign, Ill.; one son, Michael (Samia) Mosher of Plainfield, Ill.; one brother, Charles (Paula) Mosher of Effingham, Ill.; and four grandchildren, Megan, Jacob, Jared and Briana.

He was preceded in death by two sisters.

Art was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Korean conflict for two years.

He was a finance and traffic analyst at Caterpillar Inc. in Peoria for 30 years, retiring in 1986. He also worked for Advanced Technology Services in Peoria for seven years after his retirement.

He was a charter member and officer of the Northern Tazewell Jaycees for three years. Art also was a member and served as a deacon and elder at Sunny-land Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Washington.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 1, 2010, at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. The Rev. Evan Williams will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, April 30, 2010, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery in Washington.

Memorials may be made to his church or to the Northern Tazewell Rescue Squad.
