Born December 26, 1916 in Adams County, she was the daughter of the late Griffith and Ethel (Alabaugh) Speelman.
Mrs. Swope worked for 30 years at the Gettysburg Garment Company and also at the F&T Diner, where she met her husband.
She was a member of the Heidlersburg United Brethren in Christ Church, where she was very active in different activities and functions.
Kitty was the wife of the late George W. "Barney" Swope, who died June 1989, and is survived by one sister, Florence Wright of York, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by five brothers, Sherman Speelman, Barthal Speelman, Melvin Speelman, Belford Speelman, Lloyd Speelman; and three sisters, Ervie Shultz, Ruth Shultz, and Dorothy Staub.
Burial was in Upper Marsh Creek Cemetery, Gettysburg.
