Funeral services in charge of the Rev. E. E. Pedicord were conducted at the Kurtz church Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Burial in the Cornett Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Bickley was born in Owen township on January 10, 1853, to Jacob and Mary Callahan and spent her entire life in Jackson county. She was married twice, first to Henry Matlock, on October 8, 1868, who preceded her in death a number of years ago. Later she was married to Jacob Bickley, also deceased.
Besides the son at whose home she died, she is survived by another son, James Matlock, of Batesville, Ark. Three brothers, Jacob Callahan, of Kurtz; Mart Callahan, of Freetown; Jesse Callahan, of Franklin and ten grandchildren also survive. [The Brownstown Banner, Wednesday, March 28, 1945, pg. 4]
