OBITUARY: J.W. Callahan Rites Held – County Native

Funeral services for Jessee William Callahan, 88, of Bloomington, a native of Jackson county, who died Tuesday morning at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Lillian Tabor, of Bloomington, were conducted this afternoon from the United Brethren Church, Freetown. Burial was in the Freetown Cemetery. He had been ill for two years.

A retired farmer, he moved to Bloomington in 1944 to reside with the daughter at whose residence he died. He made a wide circle of close friends and acquaintances in both Jackson and Monroe counties, who mourn his death.

Besides the daughter at whose home he expired, he is survived by another daughter, Mrs. Marie Reichenba, of Seymour; twelve grandchildren, and sixteen great grandchildren.
