NATIVE SON OF COUNTY PASSES

James T. Ragsdale, Age 91, Was Life-long Resident of This Community.

James T. Ragsdale, age 91, one of the oldest native, residents of Johnson county, died Wednesday before noon at his home near Budd. Mr. Ragsdale had been in failing health for some time due to the infirmities of old age and two weeks ago his condition became critical.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at two o'clock at First Mt. Pleasant church, with burial in the church cemetery.

Mr. Ragsdale was one of five children born to Henderson and Margaret Terhune Ragsdale, and was born in Hensley township, March 17,1818. He was the last member of his family.

Mr. Ragsdale was married to Miss Sallie Ransdall, whose death occurred ten years ago. They had no children of their own, and a foster son. Benjamin Paris, was taken into their home when a little child and reared as their own son. Mr. Ragsdale had made his home with Mr. Paris since the death of his wife.

Mr. Ragsdale had spent his entire life in the community in which he was born, and was during his life, interested, and had a part in the religions and civic life of the community. He was a charter member of the Christian Chapel Church.
