Mrs. Ethel May Jackson, 95, of Walkersville, died Sunday, September 23, 2007, at Glade Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born on February 7, 1912, in Waynesboro, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Gilbert P. and Elizabeth Wierman Fleagle. Mrs. Jackson was a member of the Woodsboro Evangelical Lutheran Church and a former member of the Woodsboro Food and Friends. She enjoyed flower gardening, growing indoor and outdoor plants and spending time with family and friends.
Surviving are a daughter, Betty Fleagle of Annandale, Va.; a granddaughter, Donna Zimmerman and husband Phil of Littlestown, Pa.; grandson, Donnie Paugh and wife Cheryl of Hanover, Pa.; two grandsons, Danny Paugh and wife Jackie of Hanover and Darren Paugh Sr. and wife Christine of Hagerstown; three great-great grandchildren, Darren S. Paugh Jr. of Boonsboro, Sierra and Brandon Paugh of Hanover; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
She will be fondly remembered by staff of Haven Court at Glade Valley.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Jeane A. Paugh in 2003. Mrs. Jackson was the last of her immediate family of 16 siblings.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, at Hartzler Funeral Home, 404 S. Main St., Woodsboro, with the Rev. Dorothy Lundgren, her pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Tabor Lutheran Cemetery, Rocky Ridge. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to help defray expenses c/o Donna Zimmerman, 12 E. Myrtle St., Littlestown, PA 17340.
