Adam Mackenzie died in his home 843 E. Wood street, Monday afternoon after a long illness. He was a tailor and to many person was know only as "Scotty the tailor". He had a work shop in the second story near the north end of Merchant street and until recently when he became ill was a familiar figure in Merchant street.
He was born in Scotland in 1850 but had been a resident of Decatur for more than 35 years. He was a member of First Methodist church and of the tailors union.
He leaves his wife and the following named children, Mrs. Isabell Fundy, Peter J., J. W.,Stewart, Wilson and Jane Mackenzie, all of Decatur, Mrs.Beth Brownley, Chicago,and Robert Mackenzie, Ray Point, Cal. His descendants include 7 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He leaves one sister and one brother in Scotland.
The body was taken to the rooms of Dawson & Wikoff. No announcement has been made concerning the funeral.
