He was born December 13, 1937 in Taylorville, the son of Charles and Julia Eson Bell. He married Janet Watson on May 6, 1972 in the Stonington Baptist Church.
He retired from Georgia Pacific after 34 years. He was an Army Veteran and was a member of Joy Assembly Church in Stonington.
He is survived by his wife, sons: Claude Bell of Taylorville and Ryan (wife Candace) Bell of Moweaqua, daughter Susan (husband Jeff) Good of Stonington, 7 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 2 step great grandchildren, 1 brother, 1 sister,1 uncle, Mother in law and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 nephew.
Funeral services will be held at 10am Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at the Joy Assembly Church in Stonington with Pastor Tim Moats officiating. Visitation will be held from 5pm until 7pm Tuesday at McClure Funeral Home in Taylorville and from 9am until 10am Wednesday in the Church. Burial will be in the Old Stonington Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Ronald McDonald House in Springfield. McClure Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
