He was born about 1865 in Cambridge-at the time of the 1891 Census, he was living in Harwich with his wife, 18 year old Rose Alice Rayment, nee Bennett and in 1901 he was listed as a seaman ‘Vessels', Parkeston Buoys, Essex. He is remembered on the family grave at Harwich Cemetery. His son, Radford John Rayment was the first interred. Rose remarried in Woolwich, S.E. London but sadly she and her husband, Herbert Francis Stockwell, and three other members of her family, fell victim to enemy action in 1941 and all five were interred with her son at Harwich.
