GALVESTON - Garner Lee Massey, 60, passed away Sunday, November 1,1998, at the University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston. In honoring his wish to be cremated, Mr. Massey's family has arranged for a memorial service to be held in his memory at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, November 5,1998, at Immanuel Baptist Church, 7711 Broadway, Galveston, Mr. Denton Bassett, officiating. Burial will follow services at Robertsville
Cemetery in Jerusalem, Arkansas. Although born in Jerusalem, Arkansas on January 22,1938, Mr. Massey has been a longtime resident of the island for over 30 years. Preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Alma Massey, and also his brother, Lawton Massey, he leaves behind to cherish many wonderful memories, his wife Gail Massey of Galveston, two daughters, Deborah Deborah Massey also of Galveston and Diana Cuevas of Rio Rancho, New Mexico. Also saddened by this loss are Mr. Massey's grandchildren, Elena Cuevas, Abel Cuevas and Melody Midkiff and his only great-grandchild, Lillian Montoya-Cuevas. Joining in this grief are Mr. Massey's three sisters, Julia Krutsinger of Joplin, Missouri; Dean Smith of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Gail DeLoach of Greenville, Tennessee and his four brothers, Gentry Massey of Jerusalem, Arkansas; John Massey of Wyandotte, Oklahoma, and Hilliard Massey and Dale Massey both of Seneca, Missouri, many nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
