Ruth M. Bartelmas of Waukesha died Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2006, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at age 87. She was born Oct. 16, 1918, in Junction City, the daughter of Elmer and Emma (Brookins) Grover. She was united in marriage to William G. Bartelmas on Feb. 13, 1937. He preceded her in death Jan. 13, 2000.
She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in Waukesha. Ruth was an avid reader and loved quilting and embroidery. She also enjoyed listening to gospel music.
Ruth will be sadly missed by her son, Gerald (Kathi) of Waukesha; two daughters, Ina Rae Archer of Mount Horeb and Kathleen Briggs of Pearl, Miss.; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; her brother, Ralph Grover of Altoona; and her sister, Betty Schnick of Delavan. She will also be sadly missed by her dear friend, Irene (Bob) Fletcher of Waukesha, and all her wonderful neighbors.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Bill; her parents; two brothers; and three sisters.
Funeral services for Ruth will be held at 6:30 p.m. today, Jan. 27, at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha. The Rev. Kelly Fowler will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Prairie Home Cemetery on Saturday, Jan. 28, for family and friends.
