ANSON- Mrs. J.J. Collins,72, longtime Hawley area resident, died in a Merkel nursing home at 2:55 p.m. Tuesday following a lengthy illness.
Funeral will be held at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in Hawley Church of Christ with Dale King minister of Oliver St. Church of Christ in Stamford,officiating. Burial will be in Hawley Cemetery, Lawrence Funeral Home in charge.
Born Ollevia Admire, Sept.4,1891,at Bonita in Montague County and reared there, she moved to Jones County with her family in 1916, settling west of Hawley. She married J.J. Collins Aug. 21, 1916, at Abilene. They had lived and farmed in Hawley community since their marriage.
She had been a Church of Christ member 60 years.
Survivors are her husband; one daughter,Miss Elizabeth Collins of Hawley; two brother, John Admire of Keller and Earl Admire of Roanoke; three sisters, Mrs. Carrie Smith of Plainview,Mrs. Eunice Howard of Forsan and Mrs. Sadie Collins of Abilene.
Pallbearers will be Mac Collins, Tommy Wood, Joe Womack, Weldon Johnson,H.C. Vancil and Pete Lollar. [The Abilene Reporter-News 15 July 1964]
