Rites held for Mrs. Carrie Smith

Funeral services were held Monday in the Lemons Memorial Chapel in Plainview for Mrs. Carrie Allen Smith, 81, Mother of Mrs. H.B. Rials of Dimmitt.

Rev. BILLY SMITH of Portage, Indiana officiated , assisted by Rev. M.O. Evans, assistant pastor of the First Baptist Church, Plainview.

Born in Montague County, she moved to Petersburg in 1919, then to Plainview in 1935. She was a member of the Seth Ward Baptist Church 28 years.

Other survivors include four sons, Norman of Plainview, J.C. of Cumberland, Indiana; Bill of Portage, Ind.;and Bob of Rialto, Calif.; four daughters, Mrs. Irene Foster of Harbor City, Calif.;Mrs. Leola Rials of Dimmitt,TX.; Mrs. L.L. Slaughter and Mrs. Willard Brymer both of Plainview; a sister ,Sadie Collins of Abilene; 29 grandchildren; and 31 great grandchildren.

Burial was in Plainview Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Lemons Funeral Home.
