CALLED TO WEISER BY DEATH OF FATHER - Mr. and Mrs. Lance L. Townley were called to Weiser Tuesday due to the death Monday of Frank H. Townley, 85, father of Mr. Townley.

A pioneer settler of Washington county and resident for 80 years, Mr. Townley was a retired stockman and Weiser business man, having started the city's first garage. He also served as game warden for 10 years.

Besies Lance Townley, he is survived by another son, Colonel Frank H. Townley, Jr., and a daughter, Mrs. Carl Braden of Seattle. Services will be held at the Weiser Mortuary Chapel.


WEISER PIONEER IS BURIED TODAY; CAME HERE IN 1882

Frank Harmon Townley, 85, resident of Weiser since 1882, died at the home of his son Frank H. Townley, Jr., Monday evening.

Services were held at 2 p.m. with the Rev. John Riley officiating. Burial was conducted by the Masonic Lodge at Hillcrest.

Mr. Townley was born May 6, 1871 at Algona, Iowa. He came west to Nevada with his parents as a young boy, moving to Weiser with his family in 1882.

Mr. Townley worked for several years at the Weiser Ice and Cold Storage plant; served from 1926 to 1930 as game warden, and was later engaged in farming and stock raising. He was a 50-year member of the Weiser Masonic Lodge No. 23 A.F. and A.M.

The pioneer resident is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lydia Townley, Weiser; two sons, Frank H. Townley, Jr., Weiser; Lance Townley, Montpelier; a daugher, Mrs. Carl Braden, Seattle; two brothers, Charley Townley, New Meadows, Bert Townley, San Bernardino, Calif., a sister Mrs. Maude Riggs, Weiser; 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Townley was born May 6, 1871, at Algona, Iowa. He came to Idaho with his parents in 1882. He was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge in Weiser.

Surviving in addition to Mrs. Townley are two sons, Frank Townley, Jr. of Weiser and Lance Townley of Montpelier; a daughter, Mrs. Carl Braden of Seattle, Wash.; two brothers, Charlie of New Meadows and Bert of San Bernardino, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Maude Riggs of Weiser; and 11 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Services are prending at the Northam-Jones chapel in Weiser.
