HAROLD LANE

Harold Edwin Lane, age 71, passed away Monday, August 9, 1982 in the Bear Lake County Nursing Home, Montpelier.

He was born March 3, 1911 in Salt Lake City, Utah to George Wilbur and Zillah Holder Lane. He married Ruth Hansen August 10, 1934 at Montpelier, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized at the Logan LDS Temple, June 17, 1955.

Mr. Lane worked most of life as an interior decorator and carpenter in the Bear Lake Valley. He was an active member of the LDS Church, and an avid blood donor for many years.

He was a self-taught musician and able to play any string instrument. He played in orchestras and dance bands for many years in this area.

He also entertained a the Senior Citizen Center. Lane was a great fan and supporter of the high school students and their sports activities.

Survivors include his widow, Ruth, Montpelier, three daughters, Mrs. Hervin (Shirley) Hemmert, St. Charles; Gloria Grunig, Montpelier; and Mrs. Lawrence (Karen) Fretwell, Rock Springs, Wyoming; 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; one brother, Clarence (Tab) Lane, Salt Lake City, Utah; two sisters, Mrs. Lillian Tingey and Mrs. Jim (June) Miller, both of Salt Lake City.

Preceding him in death are one son, Harold LeRoy, and one daughter, Lois Jean, and four brothers, Melvin Frank, Eugene and Jack.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 12 at 1:00 p.m. at the First and Fourth Ward Chapel, Montpelier. Burial will be in the Montpelier Cemetery.
