Her family stated, "'Miss Lula,' a homemaker and caregiver, was a member of Friendship Baptist Church, where she was a devoted church worker.
"She was a member of the Hattie Bright Circle and had served on the hostess committee of the church. She chaired the Pastor's Anniversary under the leadership of Rev. C.C. Mills, Sr.
"She was a member of the Wesley Heights Home Demonstration Club and the Roby Fitzgerald Adult Center.
"Miss Lula loved everyone and touched people by her genuine spirit."
She was the widow of John Willie Anderson.
She was preceded in death by five children: Richard Merriweather, Ada Miller, Priscilla Dawkins, Dortha Black, and John Anderson Jr.; two grandchildren; one brother: Ambrose Scott; and two sisters: Lizzie Roland and Martha Barrow.
