M. E. (Buddy) Burke, 79, died Sunday, November 2, in Memorial Hospital in Ft.Pierce,FL after an extended illness.
Son of the late Calvin and Martha Music Burke, he was born in Johnson County April 24,1896. Formerly of Allen, he was a resident of Ft. Pierce and was retired from the C & O Railroad after 46 years as an engineer. He was a member of 885 F&AM of Van Lear and a 50 year member of El Hasa Shrine.
Surviving are his wife,Lillian Fairchild Burke; four brothers,Howard of Ashland,Greene Burke of Ragland,WV, Arch of Frankfort and John of Tampa, FL and three sisters, Mrs.Sara Williams of Paintsville, Mrs.Oma Greer of Allen and Mrs. Ruth Meeks of West Van Lear.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 6 at the East Point Church of Christ with Reverends E. W. Damron and Bill Ford officiating. Burial will be in Davidson Memorial Garden at Ivel, KY with Jones-Preston Funeral Home handling arrangements.
