Marvin C. "Boots" Armentrout, age 97, formerly of Gap, passed away on Thursday, April 29, 2010 at the Garden Spot Village. He was the husband of the late Agnes J. Moore Armentrout who passed away on October 21, 1995. He was born in Rockingham County, VA, son of the late Jacob & Minnie Getz Armentrout. He was a member of Bellevue Presbyterian Church of Gap. He had worked at Lukens Steel Company retiring in 1975. He was a graduate of Coatesville High School. Boots was a member of the Coatesville Masonic Lodge for over 50 years and also a member of Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Rajah Temple of Reading. He enjoyed fishing and going to their cottage at Carpenters Point, MD.
Surviving is a daughter: Jerilyn wife of Dr. Kermit L. Summers of Gap; 2 grandchildren: Matthew husband of Monica Venere Summers of Shaker Heights, OH, Amy wife of Charles Harter of New Castle, DE; 2 great grandchildren: Peyton Harter and Shane Summers. He was preceded in death by 7 siblings: May Wright, Dora Aceto, Elmer, Ervin, Wilson, Allen and Russell Armentrout.
Funeral service will take place from the Bellevue Presbyterian Church, 810 Newport Avenue, Gap, PA on Tuesday, May 4th, at 11 a.m. with a viewing time from 10 a.m. until time of service. Rev. William S. Davies, Jr. and Rev. Kristine Hileman officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Bellevue Presbyterian Church, 810 Newport Ave., Gap, PA 17527 or to the Garden Spot Village Benevolent Fund, 433 S.
