"Jerilyn L. Summers, age 72, of Gap, PA, passed away at the Mt. Joy Hospice Center on Wednesday, November 12, 2014. She was the wife of Dr. Kermit L. Summers with whom she celebrated 42 years of marriage on October 21st.
She was born in Coatesville, daughter of the late Marvin C. "Boots" & Agnes J. Moore Armentrout. Jeri was a member of Bellevue Presbyterian Church of Gap, where in the past she was an Elder, Sunday School Teacher and on the Worship Committee. She was a graduate of Scott High School class of 1959, the former Coatesville Hospital School of Nursing class of 1962 graduating with her RN degree working at the former Coatesville Hospital. She enjoyed cooking and collecting cookbooks and most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving besides her husband are 2 children: Matthew husband of Monica Venere Summers of Shaker Heights, OH, Amy wife of Charles Harter of Bear, DE; 4 grandchildren: Shane & Quinn Summers, Peyton & Riley Harter.
Funeral service will take place from Bellevue Presbyterian Church, 810 Newport Avenue, Gap, PA on Tuesday, November 18th, at 11 a.m. with a time to greet the family from 10 a.m. until time of service. Rev. William S. Davies, Jr. will be officiating. Interment will be in the Bellevue Presbyterian Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Bellevue Presbyterian Church, 810 Newport Avenue, Gap, PA 17527. Arrangements by the Shivery Funeral Home, Christiana & Paradise."
