Clinton Parker "Buck" Gaulding was born in Tifton, GA to Parker Lafayette Gaulding & Mattie Halstead Gaulding. His ancestors can be documented back to James Smith Gaulding, CSA of Tift Co, GA and Judge Archibald Alexander Gaulding, Civil War Newspress Publisher of Tift Co, GA; as well as the Gauldings of Colonial Virginia.

In 1925, Buck completed Soldier's Training School at Camp McClellan, AL, where he excelled in "Rifleman" and all athletics; joining his parents in Immokalee, Collier Co, FL, after the War.

Buck worked as a surveyor with the Tamiami Trail Blazers, putting in Hwy 41 across the Everglades; consisting of 91 miles, connecting the east and west coasts in South Florida, led by two Indian guides. A project which began in April of 1923, after WWI, at a time when there was just a number of well-traveled Indian trails running from Fort Myers to Miami, many of which were at least 100 yrs old. The Everglades at that time was occupied by the Seminole and Miccosukee Indians; many of which remained friends of both Clinton Parker "Buck" Gaulding, as well as his Father, Parker Lafayette Gaulding, with whom they held the utmost respect.

Nov 21, 1940, he married for the first time, Freida Dupree in Frostproof, FL.

He registered for WWII also, while working as a Surveyor in Port St Joe, Gulf Co, FL.

1957-1960 Buck & Freida are living in Hollywood, FL, where he is employed as the City Surveyor.

1959 Buck had previously purchased several acres of an oak hammock in the City of LaBelle, in Hendry Co, FL and had it rezoned to open a "trailer park". A strip of land bordering on the north side, which he donated back to the City for a portion of Hwy 80, right of way, in Nov of 1939.

1959 - 1962 Buck Gaulding was an early City Commissioner in LaBelle, Hendry Co, FL and was a surveyor and engineer, and Chairman of the Okeechobee Waterway Association for Clewiston, FL.

1966 - C. P. Gaulding was appointed by the Oct meeting of the Greater LaBelle Chamber of Commerce to oversee the Hendry County Fair.

Though Buck only completed the 6th grade, he was a successful business man, who kept maticulous records as a Surveyor in his younger years, before becoming a real estate broker in both Hendry and Collier Counties, Florida. He was well liked, respected and very involved in the community affairs and the early development of the City of LaBelle,
