Founder and Namesake of Waretown/Waeirtown. Came with John Colver and the Rogerine party to this area about 1737.

Abraham was said to be originally from the Hurl Gate area, N.Y.; his marriage record states he is of Oyster Bay Long Island.

Abraham is buried in the Abandoned/Lost Cemetery, Waiertown N.J. His gravestone was taken and used as a mooring anchor for a boat by some of the local boys in the early 1950's.

Gravesite Details

At one time there was a small graveyard in Waretown, across the street from the Presbyterian Graveyard and known as the "Old Waretown Cemetery", where Abraham Waeir and others were buried but that cemetery is lost and there is no trace of it today.
