Daughter of Napoleon Bonaparte & Emily Breedlove; she died from drowning.

Last Thursday evening about seven o'clock the distressing announcement reached the city that Miss Emma Breedlove had been drowned in Big Cabin, at the Coffyville ford, some five or six miles from Vinita. The report was difficult to believe and comprehend as true.
At the close of the public school thst evening, of which Miss Breedlove was a teacher, the lady went out for a drive with Mr. Green, at whose house she boarded. It was the intention to visit his farm near the scene of the accident, and the crossing was reached at about 5:30. In some manner (which will never be clearly understood) the depth of the water was misjudged and the buggy had no sooner struck the channel than it was washed around or tipped over, and the occupants thrown into the stream. In floating down, Mr. Green holding to the lady, they passed near some bushes, which he grasped, when the currant carried them below the surface. At this juncture the unfortunate girl was severed from her companion and seen no more. Mr Green's shouts soon brought some men from near by who after searching for half an hour for some trace of the missing girl, rescued Mr. Green from his perilous position in the water. One of the horses was drowned.
A message was at once dispatched to Vinita, and in response hundreds of people repaired to the scene of the catastrophe and a continuous search for the body was kept up until its recovery between ten and eleven o'clock next morning.
Friends and relatives were summoned from Prairie City, Muskogee and elsewhere as soon as they heard shocking news . The burial occurred on Saturday at the cemetery north of town...The parents reside at Prairie City...
