VERNAL - Funeral services for Edlean Emily Abegglen, 89,who died in a Roosevelt nursing home Wednesday, May 25, 1977,will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Vernal Fifth Ward Chapel. She was the sister of Mrs. Jessie Law of Payson. Born March 31, 1888 in Vernalto William Henry and Olive(Printha) Downs Clark, she married Lawrence U. Abegglen on Dec. 25, 1907 in Burlington, Wyo. He preceded her in death. An active, member of the LDS Church, she had worked in the Relief Society. She was Motherof the Year in the Vernal area in 1972 and started the first rest home for elderly women in Vernal.
Survivors include six daughters and three sons, Mrs.Lena Mast, Mrs. Vern (Alice) Mott, Mrs. Verna Karren, Mrs. Dwain (Gladys) Soderquist, Mrs. Glen (Birdie) long, Larry U. Abegglen Jr. and Lewis S. Abegglen, all of Vernal; Clark B. Abegglen, Roosevelt, and Mrs.Carl (Kathy) Hauptfliesch, SaltLake City; 41 grandchildren; 71 great grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Lucretta Shelton, Granger, and Mrs. Law, Payson.
