Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. this morning in the Hopson Mortuary Chapel for John David Heaton, 72, 1521 Bernard Street, who died May 1, in a Bakersfield Hospital. The Rev. John Wilcox will officiate. Private internment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Mr. Heaton, a native of Salida, Colorado, had lived in Bakersfield since 1955, was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Army, and was employed as a tire salesman by Montgomery Ward.
Survivors include widow, Mary Madeline, of Bakersfield; three sons, Eugene, of Bakersfield; Jack, of Turlock; and George, of Bakersfield; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two half-brothers, David Heaton, of Utah; and Donald Heaton, of Oklahoma; and a half-sister, Betty Davey, of Colorado.
Pallbearers will be Dean Heaton, John Heaton, Matt Heaton, Steve Hendryx, Tim Heaton, and Steve Heaton.
