Obituary in The Gazette and Daily, dated August 1942: Mrs. Catherine Hoffman, aged 84, widow John Hoffman, died this evening at 11:30 o'clock at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. John Raver, near Dallastown. Death was due to complications.
She is survived by 10 children: Mrs. William Bailey, Shrewsbury; Charles Hoffman, Red Lion; Jacob Hoffman, Potosi; Mrs. Albert Lease, York; Clinton Hoffman, Felton; Frank Hoffman, Red Lion, RD 2; Clarence Hoffman, Red Lion; Mrs. John Raver, Dallastown, RD 1; Sterling Hoffman, York RD 1; and Mrs. Charles Eckert, Dallastown; two brothers, Frank Lehman, Loganville; Daniel Lehman, York; 29 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the Raver home with additional services at the Codorus Church of the Brethren, near Loganville. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. Funeral Director, N. J. Leader, Jacobus, has charge of the arrangements.
