Confederate Veteran of Florence dies at 72
Mr. Sebe T Burch, a well known and most highly esteemed citizen, farmer and confederate veteran, died at an early hour yesterday at his suburban home, one half mile south of this city, at the age of almost 72 years.
Mr. Burch was well known throughout this section. He was the first coroner of Florence County and held that office for several terms, making a most efficient officer. He was a most excellent farmer and dairyman, having run a dairy for several years.
Mr. Burch was born and reared near this city and has lived here all his life, being away only when the war was on and he was on the front. He was married 3 times, his first wife being Miss Emma McCown; by this union one child survives. Mrs. Osteen of Sumter. His second wife was Miss Hester Burch, sister of his first wife, and by this union two children survive, Mr. Sebe T. Burch Jr. and Mrs. Moye, of this city. His third wife was Miss Carrie Hart, of Darlington who proceeded him to the grave about three years ago.
