LITTLE HARRY SOWERS DEAD:

This community mourns this week with Mr. & Mrs. G. F. Sowers, whose little son, Harry died Tuesday.

A short time ago Harry bruised his right knee in some way and Sunday it was discovered that blood poisoning had set in from the injury. S.I. Monnet took him to the St. Francis hospital at Wichita Sunday afternoon, accompanied by Dr. Burris, and an operation was performed Monday morning, but to no avail and he died Tuesday morning.

Harry R Sowers was born in Graham County, Kansas, July 16, 1905, and died at Wichita, Kansas, July 10, 1917, aged 11 years, 11 months, and 24 days.

Harry was a manly little fellow, interested in school, his work and his play. During a residence of about three years in Conway Springs he formed many lasting friendships.

He was converted last January, at once uniting with the M.E. Church and has been much interested in the various services, recently receiving a Junior League pin as a reward for faithfulness in the work of that society. His life, though short, was well spent and he has entered into rest.

Funeral services were held at the M.E. Church on Wednesday evening, July 11, at 6:30 o'clock, conducted by his pastor, Rev. Poore, assisted by Rev. Elcock, in the presence of many sorrowing friends. The pall bearers were boys from the Sunday school class and Junior League and in the quiet hush of evening, interment took place in the Conway Springs Cemetery.
