A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 10, at the Gilman United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ron Rice officiating. Eulogist will be Matt Jackson. Organist will be Shirley Nixon. Burial will be in the Bethel Cemetery, north of Lynnville for family members only.
Memorial contributions may be directed toward the Gilman United Methodist Church or the Kellogg Historical Museum.
Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening.
Survivors include his wife, Mabel of Gilman; two sons, Danny (Nancy) of Brookfield, Mo., and Craig (Gail) of Tipton; four grandchildren, Chad (Rosie), Chris (Sarah), Bryan and Matt; three great-grandchildren, Diego, Elena, and Gabe; one brother, Ben (Marge) Jackson of Cresco; two sisters, Fran (Dever) Langholf of Albuquerque, N.M., and Agnes (Kenny) Williams of Eldora; and a brother and sister-in-law, Stan and Barb Ashby of Kellogg.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Frank Jackson; and three sisters, Dorothy Jackson, Opal McDonald and Mary Hautekeete
