Mary "Sis" Walker Allen, age 79, of Seven Mile Ford, died Monday, May 29, 2000 in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Allen was a daughter of the late Daniel R. and Rufus Anna White Walker. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Wesley Allen, and by five brothers, William R. Walker, R.L. Walker, J.S. Walker, U.S. Walker, and Lindsey "Happy" Walker.
Surviving are one daughter, Margaret Ann Hoffer of Marion; one granddaughter, Rhea H. Peavler of Martinsburg, W.Va.; one grandson, Billy W. Hoffer of Hughesville, Md.; several great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law, Kathleen C. Walker and Margaret W. Walker, both of Chilhowie.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, May 30, at 8 p.m. in Williams Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles E. Blevins and the Rev. Robert S. Thornton officiating. Entombment will be held today, May 31, at 10 a.m. in Mount Rose Mausoleum in Glade Spring. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Seven Mile Ford Presbyterian Church, c/o Mrs. Frances Shorey, 237 Shawnee Trail, Chilhowie, VA 24319 or to the Chilhowie Rescue Squad.
